Personal call adds serious new layer to Sarri exit rumours

The papers in the last couple of days have seen increasing speculation about the future of Maurizio Sarri.

The Italian coach is rumoured to be a top target for plenty of clubs in Italy, with Roma and Inter already linked several times.

Now the Metro is adding extra details to the rumours which mean more credence all round. They say that Andrea Agnelli, Juventus president called Maurizio Sarri personally to try and persuade him to take the job in Turin, a claim backed up by CalcioMercato.

After an up and down season at Chelsea, the board at Stamford Bridge might quite like having this decision made up for them.

If it’s true that this call has been made, and it has the desired effect of getting Sarri to push to leave, they could have the tough decision of whether to stick with him taken out of their hands.

It remains to be seen whether this is true, but would it surprise anyone if the Juve chief is making secret calls behind the scenes? It certainly wouldn’t be the first time.
