Chelsea midfielder now listed as ‘major doubt’ for Wednesday’s Europa League final

N’Golo Kante is now considered a ‘major doubt’ for the Europa League final after suffering an injury during training, according to Goal.

Kante had seemingly recovered from the injury he sustained against Watford earlier this month, with his involvement in the Europa League final a near certainty.

However, early on Sunday there were suggestions on Twitter that he had suffered a second injury, one which he would not have sufficient time to recover from.

Goal have now confirmed these claims, reporting that the Frenchman picked up a knock on Saturday and is now a ‘major doubt’ for Wednesday’s big game.

In wake of this, Maurizio Sarri now has to structure a starting eleven without as many as four players who will likely have started had they been fit.

Chelsea have been up against it in Europe before and pulled through. We’re banking on them harnessing the spirit of 2012 and being triumphant once more.
