‘I love them’ – Maurizio Sarri casts doubt on Juventus move with heart-warming comments

Maurizio Sarri’s comments about the Premier League and his current group certainly don’t make him sound like a man who’s heading for the exit door.

As Standard Sport report, Juventus have their eye on Sarri following the departure of Massimiliano Allegri. This is accompanied with Sarri’s future at Chelsea being in doubt for some time.

It’s unclear whether the Europa League final will be pivotal to determining his future, or the decision has already been made, but Sarri sounds like he wouldn’t mind sticking around.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of tonight’s Europa League final, Sarri is quoted by Standard Sport revealing his love for both the English game and his players:

“In this moment, I love them because I have 20-22 wonderful men, and wonderful players. So now I’m really very happy with them.”

“And, of course, I have to consider it for the future. And I have to consider that I love English football, I love the Premier League.”

Whether those two factors will be enough to keep him out of Juventus’ clutches remains to be seen, but it at least serves as confirmation that his mind has not yet been fully made up.

Let’s hope that Sarri’s future is not on his mind this evening and he focuses all of his efforts into bringing the Europa League trophy back to Stamford Bridge!
