Maurizio Sarri gives full Chelsea injury update, including one potential new starter

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is giving his prematch press conference ahead of the game against Arsenal in the Europa League final next week, and as always there are some interesting quotes from the Italian coach.

He revealed the full injury rundown for the club, so we know who is in play and who is out of contention for next week’s final in Baku.

First he confirmed what we already knew – that Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are out with their Achilles problems.

Then he added Antonio Rudiger to that list, which we probably would have expected too.

But then he revealed that N’Golo Kante has a chance of being fit for the game, which really is news.

It will be a risk to start the Frenchman a month after his last full game, but he’s such a key player for us that it’s very feasible to see even the conservative Sarri give him a chance, given the magnitude of the game.
