The Daily Mail have some nice pictures of Christian Pulisic back at Stamford Bridge, but more interestingly they noted some quotes from him about what he was looking forward to when it came to his move to the Bridge.
The American winger picked out N’Golo Kante as the one man he was most enthusiastic about joining on the pitch – not Eden Hazard.
“There’s so many good players here. I’m really excited to play with N’Golo Kante,” he reportedly said.
That tells you one thing – the American was briefed to not say the Belgian star’s name, likely due to an impending transfer to Real Madrid.
Of course we can’t be sure – maybe CP really does want to play with Kante more than Hazard. But the former option seems more likely.
Pulisic will be hoping to be the man who can replace Hazard, and he certainly won’t be expecting to join him in many starting XIs.
It’s a tall order to step into those shoes, and he will have his work cut out if he’s to make any impact anywhere near as big.
