Christian Pulisic is an exciting signing but he needs to improve in certain areas to claim the superstar tag at Chelsea

Chelsea’s new signing Christian Pulisic is said an exciting player after his impressive games and numbers in the German Bundesliga, but he needs to improve those stats to claim a “superstar” tag in London.

Impressive does not begin to describe the enormity of success Pulisic chalked up in the German top flight. It is one of the top five leagues in Europe and has a great level of competitiveness in it. Pulisic, at 16 years made the move to Borussia Dortmund, and quickly cemented his position as a starter, going on to make over 100 appearances in the BVB shirt as documented by Squawka on their Twitter account.

He scored 15 goals in his time there and added a further 18 assists by the time he took the microphone at the Signal Iduna Park to announce the end of his time at the club while thanking the fans for their support in his five years at the club. This season, he scored seven goals and cooked up six more for his teammates.

It’s decent numbers for a player who only played 17 Bundesliga games due to injuries he suffered in the course of the season. But replacing Eden Hazard is a tough ask and he must find more goals and assists in the Premier League or risk getting lost among the host of A-list players getting goals for fun in the English top flight.
