Chelsea’s own official website links fan favourite with transfer to direct rivals Arsenal

Chelsea’s “Media Watch” got in hot water back in January when it moved into transfer speculation.

Previously it had just been picking up on bits of Blues PR on the back pages, but the thirst for clicks lead them onto dodgy ground. There was a strong backlash in the winter when they started mentioning potential signings, and they seemed to cut down on it for a while in the wake of that.

But it seems they’re now back, and plumping new depths: linking fan favourite Kurt Zouma with Arsenal on their own official website! That’s quite the bold move after a quiet period from them, and it’s sure to go down badly with fans.

It’s one thing irritating fans by teasing them that you might be going to make a signing, as we saw in January. But linking a player who the fans love and feel has been given a bit of a raw deal by the club with a direct rival? Then posting it on your site?

It’s honestly like they’re trying to be unpopular at times.
