Chelsea ready to cut their losses and resist spending £30m on Argentina striker next summer

Chelsea will refuse to sign Gonzalo Higuain on a permanent contract for £30 million next summer when his loan deal expires.

Higuain will be sent back to Juventus next summer as Chelsea resist the request by Maurizio Sarri to make the deal for his favored striker permanent. He has scored five times in 21 games for Chelsea since arriving in London in January. He has struggled to settle into the Premier League and Chelsea’s top brass believe he is not the right player to take them to the next level.

The Daily Mail, report that Chelsea have the option to sign him permanently for £30 million after this season or at least extend the loan deal for a year for £15m.

However, his performances have changed opinions about him in England and his once-prolific form is not expected to return for the rest of his career, even under Sarri who he enjoyed a successful stint with at Napoli.
