Which Chelsea players would ask to leave if Sarri stays

Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard wrote this article today about the potential managers likely to take over should Chelsea sack Maurizio Sarri, something they claim is being considered by the club.

Part of the reason they give for his future being in question is that players in the Stamford Bridge dressing room are considering wanting to leave.

“Senior players will be keen to leave if he remains in charge next term” is the exact quote, and clearly he isn’t revealing who he means.

That’s the interesting question posed by this snippet – who are the players who would want out if he stays?

It’s likely only to be those who aren’t getting in the team. Those who start regularly for the Italian can’t have too many complaints, even if they don’t like how the team plays or trains or whatever it is they’re supposed to be unhappy about.

We don’t know if this is total nonsense, but there has certainly been the sense in more revealing moments from people like Gary Cahill that all isn’t well in the dressing room. Him not joining in celebrations at times doesn’t look great either. On the other hand David Luiz always insists they’re passionately behind the former Napoli boss.

I guess we’ll find out soon enough…
