How Chelsea must approach the coming week if they want to win Europa League

Having qualified for the Champions League next season, following a combination of favourable results last weekend, Chelsea must now set their sights on winning the Europa League.

The Blues are third now in the standings and a win at Leicester City will cement their position on top of Tottenham Hotspur who kept blowing their chances to guarantee a top-four place until Arsenal and Manchester United both picked a single point against Brighton and Huddersfield respectively. Chelsea beat Watford at Stamford Bridge to see off the Gunners and the Red Devils in the chase for top-four.

Now, the Europa League must be the priority. Chelsea fought for a draw in Germany in the first leg of the semi-final clash with Eintracht Frankfurt last week and will seek to finish the job at the Bridge on Thursday. A goalless draw or any form of win will be enough to secure the final berth for Maurizio Sarri side and the Italian must rest his top stars at the King Power Stadium ahead of the final.

Injuries are rampant at this time of the season, with the players having stretched their muscles to their extremes across the season. N’Golo Kante is already at risk of not playing the final and others must be protected for at least the Frankfurt game this week.
