The Sun’s latest outgoing transfer links for Chelsea look like the most unlikely yet.
They claim that Leicester are now competing with Man United to try and sign Reece James, for £15m.
Now forget the fact that we’re hopeful Reece will be an important part of the first team squad next season. Just think about that price. Many would argue he’s the best talent of that age in the country – certainly among attacking players.
Few would deny that at the moment he has the potential to be world class. And when Man U are being quoted insane fees for players like Harry Maguire, Chelsea would have to be absolutely crazy to let James go for that low a fee.
We could genuinely see the club turning down a £30m bid for the defender, given his age, potential, homegrown status and meaning to the fans so the idea that mid table Leicester are going to try and take him off our hands for half that is laughable.
