Chelsea defender valued at just £3.6m could be a Premier League bargain

Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas, who has been on loan at Bristol City this season, has just given his clearest indication yet that he will leave the club for good this summer.

Football.London have an exclusive which claims that the centre back will look to leave Stamford Bridge after many years bouncing around on loan.

TransferMarkt have him valued at just £3.6m, but as we know their valuations tend to be very low compared to what actual fees end up being. Given he’s an established Championship defender, just 25 and with the potential to get even better, a figure of £10m+ would not be surprising, depending on who signs him.

When you look at the quality of defenders in some Premier League teams this year, there may well be interest from this division too. Certainly the three promoted teams will all be looking at players who are ready to make the step up with them.

Kalas could well be one of them. If the transfer ban kicks in, he may even be considered for a spot in our first team squad.
