Chelsea chasing a new managerial target, with serious obstacles

A new name has been added to the list of Chelsea managerial candidates.

According to Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard, Thomas Tuchel is now also being considered by the upstairs suits at Stamford Bridge.

He has is currently the PSG job, but a poor run to end the season has raised serious questions about his future. We’ve been linked with him before, so it makes sense he’s still an option for us.

We have a manager ourselves, and Johnson writes this piece on the understanding that Juventus are keen to take him off our hands, and we’re willing to let him go.

That would allow us to move for Tuchel, in the event that he’s fired by PSG.

That requires some doing, as will persuading him to come here. Appointing Frank Lampard seems a far easier route, and is surely still the most likely. For us to get Tuchel a few things would have to fall into place. For us to get Frank, we won’t have to do much.
