Callum Hudson-Odoi’s absence from Chelsea shortened after fresh report changes potential return date

Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi is reportedly on his way back from injury faster than it was initially anticipated.

Maurizio Sarri would welcome this news, especially after it was announced by FIFA that his side will be banned from making transfers in the next two transfer windows. The 18-year old picked up an injury to his Achilles tendon in the Blues 2-2 draw with Burnley in April.

His injury means the player is not to be seen in the Chelsea shirt for the rest of the season and perhaps for almost half of the next, as initial the prognosis confirmed. But the Sun says the winger, on Bayern Munich’s radar, could return to action in four to five months, which means he can be named in a team by Sarri in September.

Via FourFourTwo, Bayern are expected to return to their pursuit of the teenage sensation next summer and the injury boost might also be uplifting for the Bavarians, although we would hope to tie him to a new contract before then.
