Atletico Madrid want to buy Alvaro Morata, turning his loan into a permanent move, according to reports on the continent.
The information came from Spanish writer Antonito Ruiz, who says that the former Real Madrid striker will make turn his loan move – which began in January and runs until the end of next season – into a permanent move.
It’s not clear exactly what the fee will be, but given they have a fixed purchase clause (for an unknown price) in his loan deal, if they’re willing to trigger it, it should be pretty straightforward.
Right now the player wants to make the move, Atleti are happy with his work, and Chelsea are apparently willing to sell after Morata struggled so badly in England.

Both Diego Costa and Antoine Griezmann have their futures up in the air, so it’s no surprise to see the rojiblancos trying to make sure they have at least one solid option up top this season.
This would also give Chelsea a bit of cash themselves to try and upgrade their forward line before any transfer ban hits.
