“I wish him the best” – Gonzalo Higuain wades into talk of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid

The talk of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid this summer never seems to go away especially as the player has yet to sign a contract extension at the club to remain beyond 2020.

The Belgium international’s current deal at Chelsea expires in the summer of next year, and with only one year remaining now, the Blues may want to cash in and agree to a deal with Los Blancos. He has already told the media several times that he dreams of playing for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.

The return of his idol Zinedine Zidane to the Real dugout has also increased the possibilities of him switching clubs. His current teammate Gonzalo Higuain who previously played for Real before moving to Italy was asked about the transfer and he simply said if the rumors were true, he wishes Hazard all the best.

“What can I tell you? Those are things that involve the club executives and the desire of the player. When a player has a desire, it is difficult to change his mind. He is one of the best

It is obvious that, when he is at this level, he gives you points, he gives you goals and the truth is that it is a great asset to have him with us. He has not asked me (about life in Madrid) but if it’s what makes him happy, I wish him the best.”

Gonzalo Higuain, AS

Hazard has been instrumental to Chelsea’s chances for trophies since he arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2012. His performances and goals have pushed the Blues forward in various competitions, lifting one Europa League, two Premier League titles, an FA Cup trophy and a League Cup in his time here.
