Andreas Christensen was the player chosen to speak to the press ahead of Chelsea’s game against Slavia Prague, a match he will probably start.
In quotes carried by Goal.com’s Nizaar Kinsella, he denied wanting to leave this summer, and attributed many of the quotes that hinted at that kind of idea to mistranslation.
In fact, he very clearly said “I want to stay here” when asked about what his intentions were.

Christensen on rumours he might leave and his interview about the transfer ban: "It is always difficult when I speak in Danish and it gets mistranslated. I haven't had a conversation with the club but I want to stay here." #CFC #UEL #SLACHE

In reality, it nobody would think any worse of him if he did want to go. He’s not played nearly as much as he’s deserved in the last 12 months, and for a player who should be playing regularly at Premier League level, it’s not really enough.
We just have to hope that the promise of eventually succeeding David Luiz is enough to keep him at the club. So far, at least publicly, that is the case.
Then again we already know he’s been told that if the transfer ban is in place he’s not going anywhere. So perhaps he is just being diplomatic and making the best of the situation he knows he’s stuck in?
