Video: Disgrace at Old Trafford as Man Utd’s Rojo survives with a yellow after shocking challenge

Marcos Rojo is a very, very lucky boy – as is Willian.

The Argentine flew in recklessly into the ankle of our Brazilian winger, clearly having little intention of playing the ball, rather hoping to hurt his opponent.

He did so successfully, with Willian being left in a bundle on the Old Trafford turf after having his ankle met by the studs of Rojo at full force.

The most remarkable part of this is that Rojo was only shown a yellow card. He’s ended Willian’s afternoon, and maybe his season, and got a yellow card for it.

It was a blatantly awful tackle when seen in real-time, so the fact that referee Martin Atkinson and his official on the side of the incident have BOTH missed it, is a disgrace.

We need VAR in the Premier League right now in order to avoid the continual recurrence of incidents of this kind. It’s an absolute disgrace.
