Maurizio Sarri has perfect chance to move closer to one top season objective this week

It’s only a few weeks to the end of the season and very soon, the top officials at Chelsea will be under instruction pull out their pens and mark the performance of the team since the season’s start. Very high on their checklist will be trophies and the Europa League presents a good opportunity to make an impression.

The Blues have been by far one of the most imposing teams in the Europa League this campaign, dominating their opponents and at times creating a gulf in class with fine passing and goalscoring displays. In the quarter-final, Chelsea are expected to go all the way and to that, they must beat Slavia Prague convincingly.

They are already with a slight advantage heading to the second leg at Stamford Bridge. The 1-0 away result at the Czech Republic needs to be considered only a foundation to the greater win margin at the Bridge on Thursday.

Sarri must push for his players to show hunger for success. His selection must indeed show that too or he risks seeing another episode of Abramovich’s lack of patience for managers.
