Luka Jovic completes first transfer of the summer

Eintracht Frankfurt have taken up their option to sign Luka Jovic on a permanent transfer from Benfica.

The Serbia striker has been an absolute star in the Bundesliga this season and is wanted by Europe’s top clubs.

No surprise then, that the German club are confirming their payment to his Portuguese parent organisation. They only have to pay €7m, a staggering fee given the valuations being thrown around for him now.

Frankfurt were always going to make this move happen, the question is whether they now sell him on this summer, possibly to Chelsea.

It looks more likely that Barcelona or Real Madrid will snap him up first. But if Frankfurt hold on for a year while our ban expires, we might just be able to make ourselves attractive again by returning to the Champions League.
