Chelsea are unlikely to sell this €22m starter to AC Milan

AC Milan have been linked with a move for one of Chelsea’s success stories of the season, Emerson Palmieri.

The left back has gradually pushed Marcos Alonso out of the starting XI over the course of the season, and is now Maurizio Sarri’s first choice in the position.

Despite that, The Sun claim that the Italian team are interested in bringing the former Roma player back to Serie A.

In theory it’s not a disastrous move. It’s fair to say that Emerson hasn’t set the world alight in his 18 months in West London. He’s proved better than Alonso this season, but that’s more down to the Spaniard’s awful form that any exceptional play from Palmieri.

They quote a £22m price, which seems low. The Rossoneri would likely have to up their bid significantly if they want us to listen.

Additionally, if the transfer ban remains in place, it seems unlikely we will sell any players who are currently first or second choice in their position.

One to keep an eye on, but don’t expect any movement unless that ban is lifted.
