Chelsea suffer yet another injury blow as winger hobbles off at Old Trafford

Chelsea have been struck by yet another injury blow at Old Trafford, with a horror Marcos Rojo challenge forcing Willian to leave the field.

The Blues had already seen Antonio Rudiger hobble off the field with what appeared to be the injury he suffered against Liverpool flaring up once more.

With the German presumably set to miss more action through injury, it’s a blow to Chelsea’s hopes of competing on both fronts at the tail end of this season.

And we’ve just been hit with another…

Willian, who only came into the side today following an injury sustained by Callum Hudson-Odoi, couldn’t continue after a heavy challenge by Rojo.

You can see Rojo’s attempt at a tackle here. Willian, to his credit, attempted to soldier on, but was unable to do so, instead being replaced by Pedro.

We’ll have to wait and see what the prognosis is, but it looked as though it could’ve been a twisted ankle, at best, which may well bring his season to an end.

Let’s wait and see…

This is yet another headache for Maurizio Sarri, though, who has had plenty of them to contend with in recent weeks. Poor bloke!
