Chelsea backroom staff anticipating managerial change in the summertime

There is a belief behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge that Maurizio Sarri’s debut season will be his last, according to The Sun.

Sarri has been under pressure for some time now following several months of yo-yoing performances since the turn of the year.

Taking Roman Abramovich’s unforgiving reputation into account, Sarri has done well to survive as long as he has.

His time in the Chelsea hot seat could still be ending prematurely, however, with The Sun reporting that his backroom staff now think it unlikely he’ll stay in the job.

The report claims that there’s an expectation Sarri will depart in the summer, with matters off the pitch being as problematic as our performances on it.

It would come as little surprise to us if Sarri was sacked if we missed out on Champions League qualification, but there’d be little logic in dismissing him if we finished in the top four or won the Europa League.

These could prove to be a crucial few weeks in Sarri’s managerial career. Let’s see whether he can pull it out of the bag.
