Chelsea set new record for English clubs competing in European competitions

Chelsea football club, breaking records, it’s just what we do…

The Blues set another yesterday evening during a narrow 4-3 victory over Czech Republic’s Slavia Prague, during which we progressed to the Europa League last four.

We were flying the flag for English teams in Europe for several years before our recent dip in fortunes, and we’re certainly doing our bit this time around.

Have a look at this.

Of course, doing it in the Europa League is less of an achievement than if it were in the Champions League, but it’s commendable nonetheless.

From Arsenal to Tottenham to Liverpool, plenty of Premier League sides have failed to record 11 wins in a Europa League campaign – we’ve succeeded.

Ultimately, it’ll count for nothing if Maurizio Sarri doesn’t have his hands on the trophy come the end of the season. Winning it is all that really matters.

However, it’s nice to have made history in a competition in which we rarely feature. It’s testament to the fact that we’re too good for it.
