Chelsea seem happier to use Championship hitman than Champions League menace going forward

According to reports in the Sun today, Gonzalo Higuain’s chances of staying at Chelsea long term are dwindling.

The striker in on a bit of a bad run. A year ago he was key as Juve knocked Spurs out of the Champions League, but they got rid of him in the summer.

He was sent to AC Milan, who soon after decided that they didn’t really want him either. They then managed to shift him on to us in January.

Since then, he’s not made much of an impact, and the report says that his three goals since arriving – all against relegated teams – have not persuaded anyone that he’s worth keeping around.

The fact that we can’t register any new players should help his cause, but the fact that we’re still not interested shows exactly how unimpressive he’s been.

Fans will be calling for Olivier Giroud to start tonight, and for most games remaining this season; and there doesn’t seem like there will be much outcry should Higuain be given the heave-ho this summer.

Tammy Abraham will be returning from another prolific season in the Championship… maybe this will finally be his chance to shine for Chelsea?
