Chelsea can supposedly ‘delay’ Eden Hazard’s Real Madrid move – here’s how

Chelsea will be able to delay Eden Hazard’s transfer to Real Madrid if we reach the final of the Europa League, according to a rather strange report published by the Daily Star.

It’s important to note before discussing the information the Daily Star have published that there has been no credible indications that Hazard has agreed a move to Real Madrid.

There certainly hasn’t been any agreement between Real Madrid and Chelsea, else either club will have released a statement confirming so.

Despite that, the Daily Star are treating Hazard’s transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu as somewhat of a foregone conclusion. They’re discussing how we can delay it – rather than prevent it.

It’s their belief that Hazard’s transfer would be announced the week before the Champions League and Europa League finals take place… unless Chelsea reach the final.

If the Blues are successful in beating Eintracht Frankfurt over two legs and reach the final of the Europa League, it’s claimed that Hazard’s transfer would be delayed, by at least a week.

We’re rather confused as to what the Daily Star are insinuating through publishing this. Do they know something we don’t, or have they got it all wrong?
