Maurizio Sarri steadies ship – but Chelsea managerial target continues to be linked

Chelsea are reportedly in the hunt for a new manager and former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane remains in the frame for the role should it be available.

However, the Sun reports that Chelsea may lose out to Real Madrid who want their former head coach back at the Santiago Bernabeu amid the club’s poor run of form.

Real had monopolized the Champions League in the last three seasons, winning all three but were booted out of the competition by Ajax in the round of 16 last Tuesday after a 4-1 thrashing in the second leg.

Real are now firmly on the lookout for a new permanent and Real President Florentino Perez wants to bring Zidane back to rebuild the squad as per the Sun’s report.

Chelsea meanwhile, are one of the clubs strongly linked with the Frenchman but will now face a tough fight after this season to land their target.
