Zinedine Zidane is set to take charge of his first match back at Real Madrid, and you’ll never guess what, he’s only gone and dropped Thibaut Courtois.
Courtois left Chelsea back in the summer in controversial circumstances. Ill feeling has developed between much of the Chelsea faithful and the lanky Belgian, meaning we’re hardly going to shed a tear if he’s struck with misfortune…
…as he has been today.
First game in charge & Zidane is #ReptilesOut. Courtois on the bench.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Zidane has retaken the hot seat at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Frenchman had Keylor Navas as his number one during his previous stint – and he appears intent on keeping it that way.

Courtois could be in for a difficult time in Madrid, especially having failing to convince of his goalkeeping competency this season. If Keylor performs as he did previously under Zidane, he’d fast nail down the spot between the sticks.
Perhaps Eden Hazard ought to take notice of how Courtois’ Real Madrid adventure has served him. Oftentimes you’ll find that the grass isn’t always greener.
