Chelsea had their usual pre-match press conference today, and Maurizio Sarri was talking about Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The Blues manager has not selected the young winger too often, outside the period in January where Bayern were really on his case.
That has lead to fans questioning his suitability to be the manager who takes us into the future and looks to use our academy.
His answer in the press conference today was really worrying, implying that he wasn’t looking to give the youngster more starts – despite the fact that he’s one of our best players whenever he’s on the pitch.
Chelsea fans on Twitter were not happy about it, and their responses are collected below.

Surely that’s what makes the player so bloody amazing, how they handle pressure at a young age. Look at Mbappe, just won a world class and looked calm as every. Hudson-Odoi need to play more or he’s going to move on simple as that.

This was a very Stupid answer. Mbappe won the world up at 19yrs old & was named best young player. Not saying Callum is his level but only way to find out is play him.I despise managers that use the age excuse not to play talented youngsters. Club culture is to be blamed as well

That is an astonishing, worrying answer.

I ask Sarri about Hudson-Odoi. He says Hudson-Odoi is always on his mind in every game but we should put less pressure on young English players. Thinks he'll reach the top at 22 or 23 #cfc

Luiz on Sarri behind the scenes: "He is a great human and a great human doesn't change their character because of the situations" #CFC

Sarri on Hudson-Odoi's opportunities: "Callum as all other young players in England, needs to improve, it is important for him to improve. He will then be at the top at 22,23, without pressure, I think you put too much pressure on the young English players." #CFC

"I've never seen an 18 year old player at the top"
Maurizio Sarri
I have Maurizio, His name? Ray Wilkins – he captained Chelsea when he was 18 years old. If you're good enough, you're old enough.
