Frank Lampard has joined a long list of Chelsea fans who want Callum Hudson-Odoi to stay at the club beyond next summer, insisting the starlet should consider not moving.
Bayern Munich have registered the biggest interest in the youngster with the Bavarians making several offers in January worth £35 million. Of course, all the offers were rebuffed by the Blues but Hudson-Odoi made it clear he wants to join the German giants.
The Bundesliga champions are strongly linked with the 18-year old and it is believed they will pounce for him again next summer. The number of minutes he receives by the end of the campaign under Maurizio Sarri and the promises made to him about his future at the club are important factors that could sway his thoughts in Chelsea’s favor.
Lampard has joined the fans in attempting to convince him to stay. He says Hudson-Odoi must always maintain focus on making the A-list consistently.
“I understand Chelsea fans want to see more of him and he has to do everything he can to give himself the chance of minutes.
I think at the end of the season he will look back and think what can I do with my career. It’s a mad one because a young English player at Chelsea at that age then you really want him to sign that long-term contract. I hope it can be agreed that he can stay at Chelsea.”
