Chelsea midfielder comes up with creative solution to recurring back problem

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has revealed that he has come up with a creative solution to his recurring back injury which has proved a hindrance so far this season.

Loftus-Cheek has threatened to break into Maurizio Sarri’s starting eleven several times this season, with his performances often suggesting that he’d be a better option than Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic in the third midfield position.

However, time and time again Loftus-Cheek has been let down by his back. He has been unable to put together a string of games, with the injury flaring up continually and disrupting his rhythm. He hopes he has now found a solution.

Loftus-Cheek is quoted by Standard Sport revealing that he has turned to yoga in hope of putting an end to his back problems for good. Can you imagine him in lycra?

“I’ve been doing yoga. I’m not very good at it but I have to start somewhere. The physios know the best things. We have been working over the past year since I have been in the first team.”

Loftus-Cheek came on as a substitute against Dynamo Kiev yesterday evening and looked sharp. He looks to be on his way back to his best physical condition, which is excellent news for both him and Chelsea.

He is the academy product most capable of breaking into the starting eleven that we have seen for years. All he needs is an opportunity to nail down a spot in the midfield and we have no doubt he’d do it.
