Real Madrid’s €50m signing shows Hazard deal could happen anytime

It was yesterday confirmed by Real Madrid that they had agreed a €50m deal to sign Eder Militao from Porto in the summer, as reported here in the Guardian.

It’s an impressive deal that signals that the Spanish giants are set to go on a massive spending spree this summer. Zinedine Zidane is back, and clearly has been improvements to the squad he walked out on a year ago.

Militao has now been signed, with months of the season to go, and Chelsea fans will be hoping that similar moves aren’t being made for Eden Hazard behind the scenes.

Of course the window only opens on July 1st, but this latest swoop from Los Blancos will remind Chelsea fans that not only can the Spanish giants tap up our players, they can even agree to sign deals in advance.

We can’t see it happening, and in fact we’re likely to see a long, drawn-out negotiation. But this kind of thing is enough to keep Chelsea fans up at night, knowing that a press release from the Bernabeu with our star’s name on it could come at any time.
