“I did not speak to Eden about Zidane” – Does Sarri show annoyance when asked about his star player?

Maurizio Sarri has sent out a blunt message to Eden Hazard about his future and the possibility of asking to quit for Real Madrid next summer.

The former Napoli tactician was asked about whether he wants to keep the Belgium captain in his side beyond next summer, and his answer implied he would move on with or without the playmaker. Sarri warned he only wants players ‘who want to play’ for Chelsea and that is a significant hint to Hazard, should he push for a move to Los Blancos, that Sarri won’t block the move.

“You have to ask Hazard, I think. I did not speak to Eden about Zidane. I am not worried, you know very well my opinion, I only want players that want to play for Chelsea.”

It is actually an unfair question and rightly so Maurizio Sarri sounded irritated about it. The Italian manager is facing questions about Hazard preferring to play under Zidane instead of him – no one will take that without a bit of a bruised ego.

Hazard has made public claims of his wish to play at the Santiago Bernabeu and with Zidane returning to the Real dugout, the rumors will resurface until the summer. Sarri may not want to lose him, but Sarri has no say, when it comes down to it.
