Maurizio Sarri linked with a new team in Serie A as Chelsea future looks uncertain

Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com is reporting that Roma are considering Maurizio Sarri as a long term option.

The news broke today – rather conveniently on a day when the international break is in full swing and there’s not much to talk about other than the managers under pressure. It claims that the team from the Italian capital, having recently got rid of Eusebio di Francesco and brought in Claudio Ranieri, are considering approaching the Chelsea boss should we get rid.

Sarri’s future certainly is up in the air right now. It looks like he will be given until the end of the season whatever happens, and if we make it into the Champions League – either through winning the Europa League or by finishing in the top four in the Prem, it’s hard to see him getting the chop.

But right now we’re not looking too smart on either front, and if we do find ourselves out of Champions League action next season again, you can expect to see the former Napoli boss booted.

We might even be able to agree a deal with Roma to take him off our hands rather than sacking him and paying off his contract.

Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking?
