“He’s trying to dribble like me” – Eden Hazard teases Thibaut Courtois after latest goalkeeping blunder

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has mocked Thibaut Courtois after the goalkeeper committed his latest mistake, one that led to Belgium conceding a goal against Russia.

On Thursday night, the Red Devils beat Russia 3-1 in their Euro 2020 qualifier but there was enough drama in the game to warrant turn of attention away from just the result. Belgium took a deserved lead through Youri Tielemens who slotted coolly past Igor Akinfeev.

Just a few minutes later, former Chelsea goalkeeper made a huge mistake that led to the equalizer by Russia. Courtois idled on the ball before passing it straight to Denis Cheryshev. The Russian midfielder easily tucked the ball into the empty net, leaving Courtois ridiculed on the turf.

He has a catalog of blunders since his signing for dream club Real Madrid and Chelsea fans must be loving it, after he forced a move away from Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Former club teammate Hazard told RTBF that Courtois may have watched too many of his skills and decided to try and imitate his more skilled colleague:

“I think he’s looking at too many videos of me, he’s trying to dribble like me!’
