Why it feels so good to watch Thibaut Courtois fail

How good does it feel?

Thibaut Courtois moved to Real Madrid this summer. To do so was to really disrespect the team he made his breakthrough with – Altetico. But he was willing to do it.

In order to get the move, he had to refuse to sign a new deal with Chelsea. Fair enough. But instead of waiting for his deal to expire, he decided to force a move by refusing to train.

He left us with little time to sign a replacement, and put us right in the black stuff.

He got his way in the end, as players have the power. But we’re the ones laughing right now.

Like an enthusiastic late adopted buying Bitcoin after the gold rush, Courtois forced a move to a team where the only way was down. And it’s been glorious watching the fall.

Their week has seen them crash out of all three competitions they’re in, having already suffered notable humiliations on all fronts this season.

Justice has been done.
