It was hugely popular before it started and when things got rolling, there was even more applause for the kind of football Maurizio Sarri had introduced at Chelsea. Fast forward a few months and Chelsea fans are not even interested in hearing the tag ‘Sarriball’.
The Blues lost yet another game in the Premier League despite dominating the possession stats. In the first half, Chelsea were by far the better side against Everton. With 66% possession and eight chances created compared to the Toffees’ 34%, fans would have thought this would be a battering away from home.

Until it was quashed early in the second. Chelsea conceded after Richalison converted well before Gylfi Sigurdsson converted a penalty rebound to gift Everton all three points.
The whole thing has been observed too many times, uncomfortably by some Chelsea fans who showed their frustrations on Twitter. Here are a few:

Looking forward to Sarri starting this lot again next game.

Sarri has to take the blame for today's loss. Starting Alonso was a huge mistake and then not taking Pedro off.
There was no reason to bench Emerson today especially considering that Alosno played on Thursday too.
On the pitch, Pedro, Higuain and Alonso were abysmal!

I'm convinced Sarri writes his excuses out during the game pic.twitter.com/Ch2WG3zPdU

Someone actually says Sarri plays his best players in Europa League (Hudson Odoi, Christensen, Loftus Cheek) 😂😂😂

Sarri has achieved in 7 months what a lifetimes worth of friends, family, teachers, bosses etc have failed to do – i.e. make me not actually be that bothered about missing games and for that I cannot forgive him

"I actually feel sorry for Sarri – he doesn't really seem to know what's going on."
Beaten 2-0 at Everton this afternoon to further damage their chances of securing a top four spot.

Have seen this many times.
*Dominate in first half.
*Let opponent score in beginning of second half
*Completely lose ur mind and don't know what to do.
*Repeat#Chelsea

This is by far the most boring and frustrating football I’ve seen Chelsea play in my lifetime as a fan.
Dominate the possession, miss chances, concede, repeat… We’ve been shambolic for most of the season Sarriball ladies and gentlemen.
