‘We have to be ready’ – Chelsea champion issues rallying cry in hope of replicating past triumph

Chelsea are struggling to make the Premier League’s top four this season after falling behind their top five rivals in the race with only eight games remaining in the campaign.

The season has not gone as planned at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea were expected to fight for the title or at least be in command for a spot in the top four but after 30 games.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are sixth in the standings, one point behind fourth-place Manchester United and two points off Arsenal in fifth.

The Blues now have to attempt to win all the remaining games in the English top flight to make the Champions League football next season or use another route – the Europa League.

A win in the second tier of European football will guarantee passage to the Champions League and David Luiz .who has won both as a player at Chelsea, tells his teammates to be ‘ready’ for everything thrown at them if they want to finish the campaign on a high.

“To understand we have to be ready for every single moment. Bad moments can arrive, emotional moments can arrive, hard moments can arrive, and we have to be ready for that.

To win a tournament is not just flowers. I have learned a lot in my career, and football is nice because there is always something new, and you also have to be ready for that!”
