Danger looms for Maurizio Sarri as Chelsea’s top brass discuss his future

Seven losses, six draws and only 17 wins out of 30 games and Chelsea lie sixth in the Premier League standings, having already fallen out of the FA Cup in the fifth round and lost the Carabao Cup final.

As it stands, Chelsea do not see these results as good enough and the club’s top chiefs have already discussed the future of Maurizio Sarri according to Sky Sports’ post on Twitter.

The exclusive tweet on Monday disclosed that Chelsea’s top brass are “concerned and disappointed” about the results the club has recorded this season and have “held discussions” about Sarri’s stay at Stamford Bridge. The famed ‘Sarriball’ only worked for a while. It was transient although explosive in the first half of the season, and faded rapidly afterwards.

Until Chelsea lost to Tottenham in November, the Blues had been a force to reckon with in all competitions, striking fear in the hearts of opponents with the brilliance on the ball and domination in possessions stats.

However, they succumbed to some embarrassing losses. Sarri’s men lost 4-0 to Bournemouth, 1-0 to Leicester at the Bridge and a 6-0 demolishing at the Etihad Stadium. Although there has been a slight improvement in the results lately, Chelsea’s top hierarchy are not convinced, especially after the loss to Everton last Sunday, that cost the FA Cup champions the chance to go above Man United in the standings.
