Chelsea’s £20.7m transfer target will sign new contract thanks to this reason

Chelsea target Elseid Hysaj is set to extent his contract at Napoli, according to Football Italia.

The Albania international played with Maurizio Sarri at Empoli and then in Naples, so there was a lot of expectation that he would be coming to the Premier League this season to join his old boss.

Transfermarkt have his value at £20.7m, although we would expect any offer to be significantly higher.

Instead, however, no move was ever made, and now a new deal looks set to lock up the 25 year old for the long term.

That decision may have been forced on the defender by Chelsea’s transfer ban. With no option of joining the Blues available, Hysaj has perhaps decided to settle on the offer on the table from his current club.

We may well be back for him once the ban expires – but who’s to say if Sarri will even be in charge then? Certainly, unless things change majorly, that doesn’t look too likely.
