Chelsea turn attention to hot-property Premier League manager to replace Maurizio Sarri

Chelsea are reportedly considering snatching Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo next summer to replace Maurizio Sarri as per the Metro.

Sarri joined Chelsea last year after the Blues parted ways with Antonio Conte but the former Napoli head coach has found life in England more difficult than he may have anticipated. Sarri is adjusting to the tactical and physical demands of the English top flight as his initial top form has dwindled rapidly as the season has gone on.

Chelsea lie sixth in the Premier League standings and are out of the FA Cup, losing to Manchester United in the fifth round at Stamford Bridge. He also lost to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final, although that was a forgivable result considering his side had been defeated 6-0 by the same opponents a few days prior.

Chelsea fans turned on him at the Bridge when they exited the FA Cup to Man United, chanting ‘F*** Sarriball’ and ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’.

Now among other top targets set by the club’s top brass, Wolves manager, Nuno Espirito is also listed.
