Chelsea could risk good relationship with star man by deciding his future for him

Chelsea could be set to risk disgruntling Eden Hazard by holding him until his contract comes to an end in the summer of 2020.

This information comes from the Express, who exclusively claim that Chelsea are willing to hang onto Hazard, despite interest from Real Madrid.

Chelsea are set to be banned from signing players for the next two transfer windows, meaning that no replacement could be signed if Hazard were to leave.

Hazard is one of the greatest players ever to pull on a Chelsea shirt. His significance at Stamford Bridge, to the team and the fans, cannot be overstated.

Though there is currently no ill feeling between the player and Chelsea, the club appear willing to risk their good relationship – through necessity, more than anything.

The Express’ understanding is that Chelsea are prepared to hold Hazard, even against his will, until the end of his contract. The club are putting their own needs before the player’s.

It’s entirely understandable why Chelsea would make this decision, but Hazard has done so much for us, it would be disrespectful to treat him in this manner.

If he wants to go, let him. We’ll survive… hopefully.
