Chelsea must quickly find solution to embarrassing payoff dispute with Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte may have left the head coach position at Chelsea but his shadow still looms on the club months after his departure.

The Blues are yet to settle the payout due to Conte as compensation for his sacking in July last year. According to the Times, the matter has now been lodged with the Premier League manager’s arbitration tribunal and the matter will be heard at a set date soon.

Chelsea’s battle with Conte last summer was farcical as the Italian reported to work to begin preparations for the following season. That preseason was clouded with talk of a new manager coming into the club while Conte remained in charge until his dismissal.

The drama has continued till now with Chelsea failing to pay the agreed payoff that leveled the outstanding year remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge. The London giants have moved on with another manager and the more this drags on, the more the reputation of the club is dragged through the mud.

It will work against us going for top managers in the future and soon Chelsea could lose its appeal. Settle it Marina Granovskaia!
