Goals from midfield have been few and far between for Chelsea this season, especially those from Jorginho (I.E., none). So when he ran to celebrate his goal in the first half against Fulham, many Blues fans joined him to do so, even on social media.
The Blues were expecting a win against their lesser-known London rivals last Sunday. The week began well with a penalty shoot-out defeat to the red-hot Manchester City – who thrashed Chelsea 6-0 in a league fixture a few days prior – before beating Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Jorginho, much maligned by Chelsea fans in recent weeks quickly moved from zero to hero. He scored to seal the win for his side but he wasn’t all about the goal. His passes were a bit more purposeful this time around and he led from deep midfield.
On social media, Chelsea fans showed their appreciation in varying ways. Some preferring him to Ross Barkley while others compared him to Man City’s star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

Jorginho showing a bit more fight and nastiness, hitting passes with the right weight, and now scoring goals. He has responded well to criticism. Well done.
