Chelsea are 2-0 down against Manchester United, but they should be a man up.
Nemanja Matic was the first United player given a booking for persistent fouling, and now in this second half he’s just performed two clear fouls, both given by the ref. He didn’t get a second yellow for either.
When a team is clearly trying to persistently foul their opposition, and their midfielder fouls twice in a minute, you HAVE to book them. There’s just no question the ref bottled this one. We put ourselves in this position, but this isn’t helping.
We needed that break early in the second half, and we’ve deserved more in this game from some good passages of play.
You can see a selection of the collective disgust below:
Matic a very lucky chap

HAHAHA ref you absolute bottle job not giving Matic a second yellow there.

I think United's tactic to try to stop Hazard is fairly obvious so far. Matic booked.

Kevin Friend with an embarrassing decision to let Matic continue playing vs. awarding a second yellow and sending him off.

How on earth this isn’t a 2nd yellow to Matic!

Matic already on a yellow, brings down Hazard.
