Could Chelsea’s transfer ban be what makes brilliant youngsters stay?

The news that Chelsea have been hit with a two window transfer ban has hit the club hard.

There are still hopes that we can get is rescinded, or at least delayed. But at the moment fans are having to come to terms with the very real prospect of not being able to sign players for a whole year.

If that comes to pass, it will undoubtedly damage the club’s short term prospects. But could it also help us keep hold of some of our most prized young players?

Callum Hudson-Odoi has been desperate to go Bayern Munich for playing time, and other players like Andreas Christensen have also made noises about not wanting to stay if they don’t feature more. Ruben Loftus-Cheek must surely be keen for minutes too.

This can without doubt be something which the club can put on the table and show as evidence that they will be used increasingly over the next 12 months.
