Chelsea have secret plan prepared for beating Barcelona to Jovic – but it doesn’t sound like a good one

Recent weeks have seen Barcelona heavily linked in the Spanish press with Luka Jovic, the Benfica striker currently tearing up the Bundesliga on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Reports in Spain have the 21 year old Serb looking ever more likely to make the move to the Nou Camp this summer as the Blaugrana look to move on from Luiz Suarez long term.

It’s always hard to prise a player away from the Catalans once they’ve got their teeth in him, but Chelsea are also now being linked with the striker – and we think we’ve got a new strategy.

BILD in Germany claim that Chelsea are trying to steal a march on their continental rivals by dealing directly with Benfica, rather than Frankfurt, who have his registration until the end of the year.

Sorry, so that’s our tactic? To negotiate with the team… that we have to negotiate with to get the player?

If that’s our best strategy, we may as well hand him over to Barca now. We don’t have a chance.
