Chelsea receive huge boost as two important Man United players confirmed to miss FA Cup clash

Chelsea have been handed a huge boost ahead of their fifth-round clash with Manchester United on Monday, with reports saying two of the Red Devils’ stars will miss the game.

Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard have been crucial to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign at the club since his appointment as interim manager in December. The pair picked up injuries in Man United’s first defeat in 12 games under Solskjaer. They picked up muscle injuries in United’s 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint Germain and are set to miss a few weeks of action including the Monday night game at Stamford Bridge.

As per the Manchester Evening News, Solskjaer will likely start Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez in the absence of the duo, but this will be welcoming news as those two are not in the same kind of form as the injured pair.

Maurizio Sarri will hope to get the better of Man United and take a step closer to another cup in their sights this season. The Blues are no longer in the race for the Premier League title, while their chances of winning the Carabao Cup remains slim with Man City’s impressive form.
