Chelsea ready to pay €22m release clause for Cesc Fabregas replacement next summer

Chelsea are reportedly ready to go big in the transfer market next summer as they seek to beef up their squad for Maurizio Sarri.

The former Napoli boss has been vocal about his wish to get more players in his squad, especially in the central midfield area, as he ended the January  window without a replacement for Cesc Fabregas who departed for AS Monaco in the same month.

There was talk about Pablo Sarabia replacing Fabregas in the role to cover Jorginho in the deep-lying playmaker role but the deal fell through with the Blues said to be ready to pay only €4m as annual wage for the attacking midfielder while the player’s representatives pushed for €5m.

However, now according to Sport Witness, Chelsea would be ready to pay the entire release clause for the player but will still insist on paying €4m amid talk that Paris Saint Germain and Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang are also interested in signing him.
