Chelsea could land £24m Milan midfielder as part of complex loan arrangement

Chelsea are chasing AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, according to The Sun.

The English tabloid has put forward the idea that the Blues and Arsenal are both keen on the 22 year old, who impressed massively with Atalanta before making the move to the San Siro two seasons ago.

The Ivory coast midfield general has a really nice all round mix of skills and abilities, and clearly has caught Maurizio Sarri’s eye in Serie A.

Milan have him on a two year loan, with a compulsory option to buy for £24m, which may be affected  by their FFP issues.

We have Tiemoue Bakayoko on loan with the Giallorossi right now, and there are also suggestions that he could be used in a part-exchange deal for Kessie.

Which of them ends up being the better player will be interesting to see. Clearly we’ve seen enough of Bakayoko, and want a try with Kessie, while Milan may see the Frenchman as a better option.

The fact that both of them are on loan at the moment, with various options to buy, makes the whole thing rather complex – but no more tricky than the Higuain deal we just pulled off.
